Pigeon Forge Moonshine Tastings: Enjoy the Story and Let Us Drive

Moonshine gets plenty of attention around Pigeon Forge. There are flavors to try, bottles to browse, and more names on the shelf than anybody needs to memorize. But my favorite kind of outing is one where people enjoy themselves without turning the day into a competition.

Eight generations of family roots in the Smokies give me plenty of reason to care about mountain culture. That does not mean every story about a jar and a back road is gospel. Enjoy the history, ask questions, and know the difference between a documented fact and a good yarn.

Decide what kind of tasting day you want

Are you interested in moonshine, wine, local businesses, conversation, or a little of each? Choose an outing around that answer. You do not have to like every sample. You do not have to take every sample, either. Tell your host what interests you and pace yourself.

Eat before you go, drink water, and make a transportation plan that does not depend on somebody deciding they feel fine to drive later. Check any health or medication concerns with a qualified professional. There is nothing impressive about ignoring your own limits.

Bring your ID and read the actual tour details

Our Moonshine & Wine Tour is a guided outing for guests 21 and older with valid ID. The current tour information describes roughly four to five hours and up to eight stops, with transportation between locations. “Up to” matters: read the itinerary and ask what applies to your departure.

Check inclusions, pickup instructions, and availability before booking. Do not assume a particular bottle, tasting fee, or stop is included unless the booking details say so. That little bit of homework prevents most of the avoidable surprises.

Make room for conversation

A tasting trip can be a good way for friends or couples to spend time together. Put the phone down between stops. Compare what you liked, ask about the businesses, and leave space for the local stories that make the day more than a shopping run.

If your group includes children or guests who do not want an alcohol-focused outing, choose a different experience together. Our history and scenery options may be a better fit. A good host helps people find the right day; they don’t talk every visitor into the same product.

Ready to look at dates? See the Moonshine & Wine Tour page for the current description and booking options. We’ll handle the driving so the transportation question is settled before the first stop.
